Jim Tillman - didn't want to be a foot soldier
HELLO ED;
THANKS FOR DOING THIS!
OUR 50TH SHOULD BE SPECIAL!
I LEFT GMC WITH THE REST OF US IN 1959, AND WENT TO GA TECH. TOOK AIR FORCE ROTC MY LAST TWO YEARS, HAD ENOUGH MARCHES & FOXHOLES AT GMC! GRADUATED GA TECH, BS IN IND. MGT, IN DEC 1963. ENTERED AIR FORCE FEB 1964, PILOT TRAINING, LAUGHLIN AFB, DEL RIO, TEXAS.
AFTER SEVERAL SCHOOLS, SPENT THE MAJORITY OF MY TIME, BEALE AFB, CALIFORNIA. WAS A PILOT ON THE B-52. WENT BACK TO NIGHT SCHOOL WHILE SITTING ON ALERT, EARNED A MASTERS IN AERONAUTICAL MGT. FROM UNIV SOU CALIFORNIA.
LEFT AIR FORCE DEC 1968, AND WENT TO WORK FOR DELTA AIR LINES IN ATLANTA. FLEW FOR THEM 29 YEARS, AND RETIRED DECEMBER 1997.
GAYEL(CARAWAY) TILLMAN AND I HAD 3 KIDS. KAROL NOW 45, BRETT NOW 43, AND RUSSELL NOW 42. BETWEEN THEM AND THEIR SPOUSES, WE HAVE 6 GRANDCHILDREN, AND ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO A GREAT GRANDCHILD NEXT JANUARY.
I HAVE MANY FOND MEMORIES OF GMC AND MY CLASSMATES AND FRIENDS THERE. HOPE FOR A GOOD TURNOUT, AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE. THANKS AGAIN FOR TAKING THE TROUBLE TO DO THIS.
